Episode 113 – Of Taking Aim and Calling out Names

by admin on April 22, 2012

Been awhile since we’ve gone behind the curtain to see how the podcraft sausage is made, and the first half of this show is dedicated to Dawn letting everybody know about the successes and messes being made as she tries to get her new show up on its wobbly legs. And then the show shifts sideways to the idea of “creep-shaming,” a relatively new phenomenon making its way around the internet: Men complaining that women are throwing around the word “Creep” way too liberally and carelessly, and thus stigmatizing men unfairly. Dawn digs into this notion with both hands and pulls out every last absurdity and ridiculous assumption within. Also discussed – the joyousness of trolling, and why roguishness is one of Dawn’s favorite aspects.

This was a good episode, one I have listened to at least four times since it was posted. Mostly because I am trying to figure out the name of the song you played before you play the snip-it of “Tank” then you and Bobby-boy chattle for an hour or so.

Also, some guys are just creepy! I work at a porn store, one of thousands here in Portland, and 7 out of 10 of my everyday customers are not creepy. Its the old guys who have ‘duck’ mouths that stare at girls in the shop (and me) who are and will always be creepy. Sucks more when they forget to wear their hearing aid, would be so much more clear to them to stop being so creepy if they could hear my rantings at them. Ugh!
