Dawn got invited to speak on the Podcast Panel at Wonder Northwest. Not just spectate. Speak. And even more amazing, nobody made an ill-advised, terrible joke about how Dawn should shut her mouth. Instead, Dawn was joined by Mikey Neilson of Chronicles of the Nerds, Jamie Jeffers of The British History Podcast, and Robert Wagner of PDX.fm/Cascadia.fm and Portland Sucks, as they all attempt to ask the questions most people getting into this tend to ask themselves: Why the hell are we doing this, what are we getting out of it, what are YOU getting out of it, and what is any of that worth?

For the record, “Shut your whore mouth” was A) Pretty funny, and B) Dawn’s joke, not Rick’s.
I felt it simply came off as mean, having one of the only women to ask a question at the previous panel get called a whore in front of an audience. It doesn’t really matter whose joke it was. I know Dawn prompted Emerson to say it, but even she’s said she was uncomfortable with how it played. So the fact nobody called her a whore is an good thing, I think. Unless you wanna argue that this panel needed the extra push someone shouting “Whore” at Dawn would have provided to put it over the top.
