Episode 166: Call it a Do-Over

by admin on January 4, 2013

It’s not Dawn’s fault that this is take two of the mid-week show. Sometimes things don’t work on the technical end and it has nothing to do with her adversarial relationship with electronics. Besides, when you get almost two hours of her and Jaime Kirk shooting the breeze, can you complain? Topics include the difficult politics of waking a spouse, being interviewed when the fascinating anecdotes about your life aren’t all that fascinating, the responsibility of being un-depressed, a hard lesson about New Year’s Eve is learned in the most direct way possible, things to do in a nuclear blast, guns, chocolate, and so much more.

Wow, you went from how ‘logical thinking people’ don’t care about the end of the world right into crazy town.

A) senator went to Jones town and was shot and killed after people there told him they wanted to leave. He was killed when he was coming home to get more people to look into it. First and only senator to be killed in the line of duty, and it took an enormous amount of red tape.
B) The killing were recorded. Many of those people did not kill themselves, they were forced and gun point by other temple members.
C) There were a few survivors.

Don’t confuse people who fall into these cults as stupid, many are not. I know it’s easier(and ironic) to say ‘bah, they are stupid. smart people, like me would never let that happen’.

Oh, and if we ere going to be hit by a killer asteroid and it was detected we would know.
1) We have asteroid right now that may be a killer asteroid depending on whether or not it hits the keyhole when it passes. I can’t help but note they we know about it and it’s public information
2) It would literally, require well over a million people from all over the world to say nothing about it.

Not that there aren’t 1000 other things that could kill us with out us knowing it was coming.

Jonestown was in Guyana, not the U.S.

Guess you didn’t hear about the 8-year-old boy dying while shooting an Uzi at an “Machine Gun Shoot.”
